Livestock production emissions : 18% Global transport emissions : 13.5% 18% of all emissions of greenhouse gases from human activities, including:
- 9% CO2
- 37% CH4 (metana) - 23 times more in the Global Warming Potential of CO2 for 100 years, 62 times for 20 years
- 65% N2O (nitrous oxide oxide) - 296 times more in the Global Warming Potential of CO2 for 100 years, 275 times over 20 years.

Producing 1 kg of beef:
- Generate emissions of greenhouse gases with a warming potential equivalent to 36.4 kg of CO2.
- Releasing compound fertilizer which is equivalent to the sulfur dioxide 340 gr and 59 gr phosphate. Consume 169 megajoule energy.
- 1 kg of beef is equivalent to the amount of CO2 produced by the average European car every 250 km it, and burn enough energy to illuminate light 100 watt bulb for 20 hours.
- More than two-thirds of the world's energy used to transport produce and livestock feed.
