BEEF CONSUMPTION AND REDUCED SPERM

Consumption of beef by women during pregnancy may alter the uterine testicular development in boys and jeopardize reproductive capacity will be in the future, according to the researchers.
Shanna Swan, Ph.D., and colleagues from the University of Rochester (NY) reported online on March 28, the issue of Human Reproduction.

In a study of 387 pregnant women of fertile couples, men whose mothers reported eating more than seven pieces of beef in a week during pregnancy, have a sperm concentration less than 24% compared with those who ate beef less than that amount, according to findings them. In addition, men who consume lots of beef has tripled sperm concentration included in the classification as sub-fertile according to World Health Organization standards, compared with men whose mothers ate less beef, said Dr. Swan and colleagues.


The reason is the residue of chemicals contained in beef. Although the United States prohibits the development of promoter diethylstilbestrol (DES) is used on calves in 1954, other hormones such as estradiol, testosterone, progesterone and synthetic hormones zerano; trenbolone acetate and melengestrol still in use, according Dr. Swan. While the chemical residue remained after slaughtered.

In boys who consume a lot of beef (more than seven times the beef eaten in a week), sperm concentration of 24.3% lower (P = 0014). The boy who ate lots of beef had an average sperm concentration of 43.1 million sperm / ml semen, while the boys whose mothers ate less beef had an average of 56.9 million sperm.

Comparison of men with sperm concentration below the WHO limit subfertilitas lowest (20 x 106/ml) was three times higher (17.7% to 5.7%. P = 0 / 002) than in men whose mothers consumed less beef. History of previous subfertilitas also common among boys who consume lots of beef (P = 0.015), the researchers reported.

Sperm concentration was not associated with the consumption of other foods made by his mother (pork, lamb, veal) or the consumption of meat in men, according to findings the researchers. Also in women who consume meat chicken, fish, products of nuts and vegetable ingredients seem harmless.

On average, mothers ate 3.4 beef in every week and only 15 (4%) reported eating no beef during pregnancy, while 336 ate beef seven times or less in each week, and 51 reported eating beef more than seven times in each week, according to the researchers. Women who consume a lot of beef eating too much red and more live in North America at the same time the boys they were born by their mothers who consume little meat.

However, the researchers explain that most mothers in this study lived in North America, and this finding does not apply to other areas of the beef produced in other ways.

The researchers also noted that they can not manage confounding that can not be identified related inventions.   • Start Learning become vegetarian for half a day (12 hours), for example, began at 24 o'clock at night until 12 at noon. This means that half of the rest of your life has become a vegetarian. If in three months you have been successful doing this first step, you will be a veggie.
  • Second step, choose three kinds of meat the most you like to not be eaten during the rest of your life. If the second step you can perform in the discipline for three months, then you will easily become entirely vegetarian.
  • Now, start to be an entirely vegetarian for 24 hours each day. In three months when you successfully perform this third step, you will become a successful vegetarian forever.

MEXICAN LASAGNE (Coeliac Friendly)

Ingredients
3 tbsp tomato paste
425 gm can diced tomatoes
½ cup sweet corn
1 small red capsicum
425 gm can kidney beans
1½ cups water
5 White corn tortillas (Approx)
½ Beef stock cube (comes in vegetarian variety) (Massell brand is gluten free)
½ of a 35gm packet of Taco seasoning mix (Old El Paso)
1 teaspoon crushed garlic
1 cup grated cheese


Method
Pre-heat oven to 220°C

Combine all ingredients in large saucepan (except cheese and tortillas). Bring to the boil on stove, stirring then simmer for 10 minutes.

Using a round ovenproof casserole dish, (similar diameter as corn tortillas) layer ingredients as follows:

Ladle the filling mixture to cover base of casserole dish. Top with a corn tortilla. Ladle filling to cover tortilla top with the next tortilla. Continue until filling is used making sure it is the last thing on top. Sprinkle cheese on top of filling mixture. Do not cover. Bake in oven until heated through and/or cheese is completely melted, approx 15 minutes.

Mexican Lasagne is delicious served hot or cold accompanied by a green salad.

INDONESIAN GADO-GADO



250 g/9 oz white cabbage, shredded
4 carrots, cut into matchsticks
4 celery sticks, cut into matchsticks
250 g/9 oz/4 cups beansprouts
1/2 cucumber, cut into matchsticks
fried onion, salted peanuts and sliced fresh chilli, to garnish



For the peanut sauce
15 ml/ 1 tbsp  oil
1 small  onion, finely chopped
1 garlic clove, crushed
1small piece galangal, peeled and grated
5 ml/ 1 tsp ground cumin
1.5 ml/1/4tsp ground chilli powder
5 ml/1 tsp tamarind paste or lime juice
60 ml/4 tbsp crunchy peanut butter
5 ml/ 1 tsp soft light brown sugar


  • Steam the cabbage, carrots and celery for about 3-4 minutes, until just tender. 
  • Leave to cool.Spread out the beansprouts on a large serving dish. Arrange the cabbage, carrots, celery and cucumber on top.  
  • To make the sauce, heat the oil in a saucepan, add the onion and garlic and cook gently for 5 minutes, until soft.  Stir in the spices and cook for 1 minute more. 
  • Add the tamarind paste or lime juice, peanut butter and sugar. Mix well.  
  • Heat the sauce gently, stirring occasionally and adding a little hot water if necessary, to make the sauce runny enough to coat the vegetables when poured.  
  • Spoon a little of the sauce over the vegetables and toss lightly together. 
  • Garnish with fried onions, peanuts and sliced chilli. Serve the rest of the sauce in a bowl separately.

SINGAPORE NOODLES


Ingredients:
4 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 tablespoon sesame oil
1 clove garlic, crushed
3 teaspoons minced ginger
1½ tablespoons curry powder (Maharajahs Brand is recommended) or to taste

1 red capsicum, cut into strips
2 cups shredded Chinese cabbage
2 carrots, peeled, quartered and thinly sliced
125g thin rice stick noodles (rice vermicelli)

2 cups bean sprouts
2 spring onions, sliced
¼ cup water or chicken stock
2 tablespoons soy sauce
½ teaspoon palm sugar or soft brown sugar
½ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon freshly ground pepper



Method:
Soak the rice noodles in cold water for 30 minutes, or until they have softened. Drain the noodles in a colander. Prepare the remainder of the ingredients while the noodles are soaking.

Prepare the sauce by whisking together the water or chicken broth with the soy sauce, palm sugar and salt and pepper. Set aside.

Heat both oils in a hot wok. When the oil is hot, add the ginger, garlic and curry powder. Stir-fry for about 30 seconds. Stir-fry the vegetables, beginning with the carrot then adding the red capsicum, and the cabbage. Add the noodles and stir until they soften then add the spring onions and bean sprouts.
Pour the sauce over, tossing the ingredients so that they are absorbed with the sauce. Add a bit more water or chicken broth if the mixture becomes too dry. Taste and adjust the seasoning, adding more sugar, salt, pepper or curry powder as desired. Cook until the sauce is absorbed. Serve hot.

Tips for Homemade Juices

  • The juice machine must clean. Use high speed for about 20-30 seconds.
 
  • Raw fruits and vegetables. Must Fresh and clean. Wash it carefully under water flows.Choose whatever you like. Mix more than one fruits or vegetables will give a special taste. It's fun and easy to have an experience about taste. Make a new one for your favorite !!! 
 
  • Watermelon and pears are one of Small seeded fruit, may be juiced with their seeds, with the exception of papaya and apple seeds. 
 
  • Orange and grapefruit seeds might impart a bitter taste to your juice. Remove the large pits from fruits like peaches and nectarines, etc.
 
  • Peel all fruits and vegetables that are not organically grown because the peel is where most of the chemical residues can be found. While most skins of organically grown fruits and vegetables may be left on, with the exception of waxed produce, the skins of pineapples, kiwis, oranges, grapefruits and papaya should be removed.  
 
  • Choose fresh ripe produce. Rubbery vegetables, bruised fruit, wilted greens and over or under-ripe fruits will produce juices that are neither tasty nor healthful.
 
  • Cut the fruits or vegetables into pieces that will fit into the mouth of your juice machine. Make sure that the items are smaller than a golf ball so they will blend completely. Add the liquid ingredients next. 
 
  • Check to see if the ingredients are well blended. Sometimes the frozen fruit will jam under the blade. If there is jammed fruit, use a spatula to unjam the fruit, and blend again.
  
  • Once the mixture is evenly blended, slowly add two ice cubes through the opening of the blender lid. Keep adding one or two ice cubes at a time until the blender sounds smooth.
